Our History

Robins, Eskew, Smith & Jordan traces its beginnings to 1980 when Herbert E. (Eddie) Robins III and Clair E. Eskew formed the firm of Herbert E. Robins, III and Associates with the mission of helping individuals and businesses with their tax and accounting needs. Over the past four decades, the firm has grown from one location on the south side of Atlanta to three locations serving the greater metro-Atlanta area.

1980
November

Herbert E. Robins III and Clair E. Eskew form Herbert E. Robins III & Associates on November 1. Office located on Old National Highway in College Park.

1981
September

Firm admits Harold Wayne Farmer as a partner. Name is changed to Robins, Farmer & Associates.

1983
February

Clair E. Eskew is named the firm’s third partner. Firm is incorporated and name changed to Robins, Eskew & Farmer, P.C.

1986
May

Due to growth, more office space is needed and the firm moves its office to Metro South Executive Center on Highway 85 in Riverdale.

1992
January

Paul Smith becomes the firm’s fourth partner.

October

Firm expands into Henry County with a satellite office in McDonough.

1994
December

McDonough office relocates to a larger facility.

1998
January

Dan Clum, located in the McDonough office, becomes the firm’s fifth partner.

2000
September

The Riverdale office relocates to Fayetteville.

2001
January

Firm names Greg Pace as its sixth partner.

December 1

Firm merges with Jordan & Associates and Lee Jordan becomes the firm’s seventh partner. The new firm name is Robins, Eskew, Farmer & Jordan, P.C. A third office opens in the Northlake area of Atlanta.

2002
June

Clair Eskew retires from the firm.

2004
September

Firm merges with Williams-Keeling in Suwanee. Suwanee becomes the firm’s fourth office and Melanie Keeling becomes the eighth partner.

2005
June

Stockbridge office relocates to new space at 350 Country Club Drive in Stockbridge at Eagle’s Landing.

2008
January

Firm name changed to Robins, Eskew, Smith & Jordan.

2009
January

Kris Parker and Bart Robins become the firm’s ninth and 10th partners.

2011
January

Al Rabb and Houston Smith join the firm when RESJ acquires Smith & Rabb, P.C.

2014
January

Bryant Trotter becomes the firm’s 11th partner.

2018
September

The Suwanee and Northlake offices merge into a new location in Duluth. The legal name of the firm is changed to RESJ, P.C.

2020
January

Matt Chandler becomes the firm's 12th partner.

2020
November

Firm celebrates its 40th anniversary.

2022
December

Paul Smith retires.

2023
December

Lee Jordan retires.

2025
January

Bruce Burkholder is named the firm’s 13th partner.

Fayetteville office relocates to new space.
